Audience:
The primary learners are first year business owners who already have their company’s website and social media platforms established and they are now trying to establish and grow their email marketing lists and campaigns. They are also new Customer Connect customers. They are usually women in their thirties with technical skills and experience in the corporate world.
Problem:
New businesses have signed up with Customer Connect to grow their email lists because they know this is an invaluable marketing tool. However, they do not know how to go about growing their email lists. When this gap is closed, email marketing becomes a valuable tool for them to increase their revenue. In turn, Customer Connect’s revenue increases as well because of their tiered pricing plans based on the number of contacts on clients’ email lists.
Solution:
Customer Connect will automatically provide this free training for new clients that fit the criteria stated in the sections above. After taking the course, learners will be able to successfully execute Customer Connect’s three phase strategy for growing an email list in order to increase their email subscribers by at least 10-20% over the next three months.
Highlights:
This course includes a scenario, narration, knowledge checks with immediate feedback, and a scenario-based final assessment.
Process:
I used a systematic approach to design and develop this course. This would have started with a needs analysis involving SMEs to determine deficiencies, learning goals, and appropriate modalities for this training.
The design phase included crafting a design document to outline the course structure and a storyboard to specify the real-life examples, animations, and interactions step-by-step.
These ideas were brought to life during the design phase using Articulate Storyline 360 using click-to-reveal, accordion, and other engaging interactions.
A thoughtful job aid would also be provided to assist learners with internalizing this new learning and applying and mastering it in the real world.
Evaluation:
Level 2 Assessment:
The learner will participate in ungraded knowledge checks (one multiple response and one matching drag and drop question) after the first two sections of the course. They will receive immediate feedback on their responses.
The learner will also take a final graded assessment at the end of the course. This quiz consists of 5 scenario-based multiple choice/multiple response questions. The learner must answer 4 questions (80%) correctly to successfully complete the course. Retakes are unlimited and the learner may review their correct and incorrect answer choices after each attempt.
Level 3 Assessment:
Three months after course completion, Customer Connect will send out a survey to course participants to gauge how well they were able to implement the list building initiatives in the course and how successful their attempts were. Customer Connect will also track their clients’ data to see if their email lists did in fact grow by at least 10-20% three months after taking the course.

Audience:
The primary audience is newly hired DigiStar social media managers. These are entry level employees, usually in their twenties, entering the digital marketing field. The learners have the technical skill to navigate the Instagram platform and have experience doing so for personal use. They are generally tech savvy.
Problem:
Newly hired social media managers do not currently have the training or experience necessary to effectively and systematically grow clients’ Instagram accounts.
Solution:
Newly hired social media managers who take this training will grow clients’ Instagram accounts with increased reach and/or engagement (to varying degrees due to external factors) for 90% of DigiStar’s Instagram growth clients after a 1-3 month period.
Highlights:
This course includes interactions, visuals, screen-recordings, knowledge checks with immediate feedback, and a scenario-based final assessment.
Process:
I used the ADDIE model and adult learning theory to conceptualize and develop this training. The first step would be to work with SMEs and other stakeholders to determine specific areas for growth and how to best target these needs.
Next, a design documented was created to give an overview of the course and I strategically designed the course for optimal engagement and practical knowledge transfer.
Evaluation:
Level 2 Assessment:
The learner will participate in ungraded knowledge checks in each section of the course. They will receive immediate feedback on their responses.
The learner will also take a final graded assessment at the end of the course. This quiz consists of 5 scenario-based multiple choice/multiple response questions. The learner must answer 4 questions (80%) correctly to successfully complete the course. Learners get immediate feedback after each question and retakes are unlimited.
Level 3 Assessment:
Three months after course completion, Digistar will audit the Instagram accounts that were assigned to new social media managers who took the training. This will determine if at least 90% of these accounts grew during this time period.
